My Health & Fitness Beliefs
More than likely %%FIRST_NAME%%, you have at least a few unconscious beliefs or some fixed mindsets that may be blocking the abundance you want for yourself in the Health & Fitness area of your life.
As you go your beliefs about Health & Fitness %%FIRST_NAME%%, it’s very important to correct any negative beliefs you may have about it that is holding you back or giving you an excuse to hold onto a bad habit. As with all foundational beliefs that shape the areas of our lives, many are formed at a young age, and/or bestowed upon us by teachers, friends, coworkers, etc. as well as the various experiences we’ve had in our lives – good or bad.
In this section of your Abundance Blueprint is where you write down your fundamental beliefs about your Health & Fitness %%FIRST_NAME%%. Make sure these are your beliefs and not a belief someone else gave to you. Make sure these beliefs empower and serve you. If you have a belief that you’re not sure about, simply question it, and be careful %%FIRST_NAME%%, many limiting beliefs about your Health & Fitness that you might tell yourself sound like true statements – but they are NOT …
“I’m a smoker.” “I’m an alcoholic.” “I’m obese.” “I’m depressed.” “I’m Fill in the Blank “ Now when you argue these beliefs, you may think it’s true because there’s no arguing the fact that (I do smoke, I do drink excessively, I am extremely overweight, etc.) and maybe you even have a diagnosis from a doctor. However, these are nothing more than “conditions.” The way to argue these beliefs which don’t empower you is to ask yourself these questions: Am I Really? Is that who I really am or is it simply a condition that I have at this time? Is this condition a truth of your identity as a person or is it a part of something you’re just experiencing in life right now? A minor change in your statement can make a huge change in your life. Try something like; instead of saying “I’m an insomniac.” try “I’m currently experiencing difficulties sleeping.”
A few questions you may ask yourself are:
Do you believe Health is the greatest asset a person possesses?
Do you believe you have complete control over your fitness level or is it based on your family genes (out of your control)?
Do you believe your physical body is important, and time to improve it should be made a priority life?
Do you believe the body takes care of itself and to simply love the body your were given and be happy?
Below are some examples of limiting (bad) beliefs about Health & Fitness that usually stem from fear based beliefs that many people pick up from parents, friends, teachers, television, the media, the Internet, and more. Next to these are some empowering (good) beliefs. If a belief is holding you back and not helping you %%FIRST_NAME%%, simply replace it with a belief that does.
Bad beliefs that hold people back and create a fear-based mindset
Good beliefs that empower people and create a abundant mindset
Losing weight is painful – I’ll have to work really hard and be hungry for the rest of my life to be fit
I know some very delicious foods that are healthy and really hit the spot after a light workout
Cutting out sugar is too hard, and if I do, I miss out on all those deserts and softdrinks, and who knows what else?
I either sacrifice my body to enjoy junk food or I sacrifice junk food to enjoy my body.
I might lose some friends that think I’m trying to be better than them by improving myself
A true friend would want, and encourage, me to to solve my health issues and enjoy life to the fullest
Diets don’t work on me anyway – I’m just a big person and there’s nothing I can do about it.
Being healthy is a choice – the result of a set of habits and actions that I can start one day at a time
I’m too busy with Fill in the Blank , I don’t have time to exercise
by staying healthy and exercising, I get so much more done during the day, and feel so much better when it’s over
I can’t enjoy myself or have fun without Fill in the Blank . (alcohol, cigarettes, candy, popcorn, etc.)
If I’m surrounded by great friends/family or engaged in an activity that is worth my time, that’s all I need to be happy
I’m going to share with you a few of my own beliefs about Health & Fitness %%FIRST_NAME%% to help get you thinking. If you agree with any of them, feel free to use them, modify, make them your own. If you don’t agree, then toss them out. Your Abundance Blueprint is yours, not mine or anyone else’s! If you’re not happy with your current Health & Fitness level, complete the following statements:
I’m not Fit & Healthy because …
I want to improve my Health & Fitness, but …
You can use the words “because” and “but” to expose your limiting beliefs for any situation so you can adapt statements to fit your needs. For example, “I can’t _____ because …” and then replace your limiting belief with a new, supporting belief. Then, write these positive beliefs in your Abundance Blueprint and repeat them to yourself daily as affirmations / Statements of fact.
Here are some of my Health & Fitness beliefs %%FIRST_NAME%%:
Health is the greatest asset we have, nothing else matters without good health. All the money in the world is worthless if you can’t get out of bed.
Without good health, you can’t travel, play actively, climb the stairs in a luxury home or sit in a fancy car, or even fully love another person.
I can control the way my body ages and looks as a result of my beliefs. Who says we get old at a certain age?
I Control my diet & exercise rituals which shape my body and maintain my health. It’s a part of who I am and a part of my lifestyle everyday so that I stay in peak physical and healthy form.
I believe my mind can heal my body of even the most life threatening illnesses.
%%FIRST_NAME%%, as you list your own beliefs in your Abundance Blueprint, take responsibility to make these beliefs deep and empowering because they will shape the vision you create in the next part for ideal physical self. Make that vision extraordinarily by have some extraordinary beliefs.
Don’t worry %%FIRST_NAME%%, you don’t have to come up with all of your core beliefs right this minutes. Get some basics down, and you can always come back to fine tune them.
