Getting Started With Your Business & Career %%FIRST_NAME%%

A lot has changed in the area of Business & Careers over the last few decades.  Depending on your age %%FIRST_NAME%%, you may remember a time when you could learn a skill in school, get a job with a good company, and retire from that same company.

Those days are long gone, but there’s never been as much diversity and opportunity as there is today.  We have many jobs that didn’t exist in the past, and technology has opened up a vast amount of new opportunities for people to choose from for their Business & Career.

You could say that there’s so much choice today that it can be very overwhelming.  The important thing is to think through it so you make the right choice.  What do you like to do %%FIRST_NAME%%?  What are you good at?  What excites you to get out of bed every morning?  Making the right choice for you (not someone else) can create an abundance of joy and fulfillment in your life.  Since we spend an enormous amount of our time and energy on our Business & Career, this is a very, very important choice for you %%FIRST_NAME%%.

Don’t be worried if your current job is not your dream Business or Career.  What do Jeff Bezos, Jay Leno, Carl Lewis, Sharon Stone, and Shania Twain all have in common?  They all used to work for minimum wage at McDonald’s.  If you’re like me %%FIRST_NAME%%, then you’ve probably had several of these kinds of jobs.  I had my share of working in restaurants (I also worked at McDonald’s), delivering pizza, working a paper route, and a big handful of other ones.

This section will be all about looking inside yourself, discovering what you have a passion for, and what you want to do earn money.  It’s so important that many people define Who they are by What they do to make money.  Not that I agree with that, but it’s important to get it right.

Did you know Tony Robbins almost became a truck driver instead of the world famous teacher that he is today.  I have a lot of respect for truck drivers, but millions of people (including myself) would have sadly missed out on the beneficial teachings of this man had he gone down that initial Career path.

Walt Disney was a newspaper editor.  Imagine if he would have been “satisfied” with that Career instead of following his passion?  He decided to do what he loved, and millions upon millions of people benefited from his decision.

Singer Elvis Costello was a computer programmer before deciding to pursue his love of music.  Comedian actor Ken Jeong was a doctor, and had a successful practice before changing to love of comedy.  These are not successful people who once had crappy jobs just to pay the bills before hitting it big, these are people who good Careers that provided a good life, but it just wasn’t what they wanted to spend their time doing for a living.

In today’s world, you’re able to choose what you like to do, learn how to be great at it, and make money from it, and then use your talents to benefit others in exchange just as the people in the examples above – so let’s get started %%FIRST_NAME%%!
